Introducing Tillandsia Xerographica, a living masterpiece that captivates with its awe-inspiring beauty. As a bestseller in our Tillandsia collection, this variety stands as a testament to the intricate elegance of air plants.

The Tillandsia Xerographica’s allure lies not only in its appearance but also in its ability to adapt to a range of environments. From a focal point in a minimalist home to an eye-catching feature in garden landscapes, this versatile plant thrives with a touch of care and an appreciation for its form.

Origin and Characteristics

Native to the dry forests and mountains of Central America, specifically  Guatemala, México, El Salvador, and Honduras, Tillandsia xerographica is well-adapted to survive in arid conditions. Its name, “xerographica,” is derived from the Greek words “xeros” (meaning dry) and “grapho” (meaning write or draw), emphasizing its affinity for dry environments.

The plant features a stunning rosette of silver-green leaves that curl gracefully as they grow, creating an elegant and otherworldly appearance. In its natural habitat, Tillandsia xerographica attaches itself to rocks, trees, and other surfaces using its wiry roots, making it an epiphytic bromeliad.

Caring for Tillandsia Xerographica

One of the most appealing aspects of Tillandsia xerographica is its low-maintenance care requirements. Here are some essential tips to ensure your plant thrives:

  1. Light: Place your Tillandsia xerographica in bright, indirect light. It appreciates plenty of filtered sunlight but should be protected from direct sun, which can scorch its leaves.

  2. Water: Mist your plant with water two to three times a week, ensuring that it receives enough moisture without becoming waterlogged. Additionally, you can soak it in a bowl of water for 30 minutes every two weeks, allowing it to absorb moisture through its leaves.

  3. Air Circulation: Good air circulation is crucial for Tillandsia xerographica’s health. Ensure proper ventilation to prevent stagnation and mold growth.

  4. Temperature: Keep your plant in a temperature range of 50-90°F (10-32°C). It can tolerate brief periods of cooler temperatures but should be protected from frost.

  5. Fertilization: Feed your Tillandsia xerographica with a diluted, balanced liquid fertilizer (10-10-10) once a month during the growing season (spring and summer).
